Brent Alan Verch, 41, of Hermosa Beach, CA passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 6, 2008.  He is survived by his parents Darold and Kathy of El Segundo, CA; his brother Brad of Newport Beach, CA and his sister Sonja McColgan, her husband Lance and three daughters, Jayden,  Kaylie and Dani, also of El Segundo.  He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He lived in Olivia, MN until he moved to California with his family as a senior in High School.  He was on the football and wrestling teams and participated in state wrestling meets in both Minnesota and California.  He attended El Camino College and wrestled on the college team.  He then went on to coach high school wrestling in El Segundo for a number of years.
Brent and his father started Verch Insurance in El Segundo in 1988, and it grew into a successful insurance agency.   Brent truly loved life and lived it to the fullest.  He was an avid sports fan and went on yearly pheasant hunting trips to South Dakota.  He will be missed by many people who knew him from many different walks of life.  Brent touched the hearts of every person he met and will greatly be missed by family and friends alike.
A memorial service was held on the beach in El Porto where Brent lived for 13 years.  Pastor Carlson of First Lutheran Church officiated and God provided the perfect location and weather.
We hope that all who knew him will celebrate his life and always live life to the fullest.  And we find comfort knowing that Brent died living!
